SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Systems Engineer to serve as technology integrator on a critical customer project. The successful candidate will work closely with the customer to validate developer software designs through the full system life cycle and support delivery of systems to end users. This position requires a self starter, willingness to learn, excellent communication skills, and strong dedication to mission.

In providing direct support to the customer, this role will:

• Develop software requirements supporting system needs with a strong understanding of CONOPS
• Review software architectures implemented with a variety of operating systems and coding languages to include RHEL, C/C++, Java, and Python
• Serve as the customer's subject matter expert of software and firmware across the program
• Understand the interplay required between software and hardware to achieve system objectives and work with hardware systems engineers to develop design solutions
• Advocate for design improvements and highlight design risks (schedule and technical)
• Communicate with and understand end user needs for implementation into software designs
• Work with a variety of software/firmware applications including hardware controllers, web based applications, and application user interfaces
• Serve as the customer's trusted test witness during early development and critical system integration test events

Qualifications

• Must currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly to be considered
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
• Experience directly working with the design, testing, integration, and/or operations of systems with intensive software requirements (e.g. software control of critical hardware elements)
• Experience developing user interfaces to software applications and incorporating user feedback into designs
• Experience with Red Hat Linux
• Familiarity with with Java, C/C++ and Python in order to review designs and architecture
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
