SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission, and Information Technology Division, provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as systems engineering, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, application development, DevSecOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.
We are seeking multiple Software Engineers to join our National Intelligence Program providing analytic and software capabilities to include data visualization tools, language translation, data ingestions, extraction, and modeling.
These positions can be in Herndon, VA, McLean, VA or Chantilly, VA and require an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
The ideal candidates will enhance our analytics and software capabilities, contribute to date visualization and translation tools, manage data pipelines, and ensure the ongoing reliability and performance of production systems.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain software architecture for analytics and data solutions with an emphasis on operational stability and maintainability.
- Build scalable and intuitive data visualization tools, and integrate language translation features to accommodate diverse datasets and user needs.
- Establish efficient data ingestion and extraction pipelines, ensuring data integrity and optimal processing.
- Contribute to the integration and deployment of data modeling and machine learning algorithms within the software suite.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code adhering to software development best practices.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of all systems with proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of issues.
- Regularly perform code reviews, security updates, and refactoring to enhance system operations and maintenance.
- Collaborate with O&M teams to establish best practices for system uptime, including developing maintenance plans and backup procedures.
- Participate in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows and maintain documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.
- Engage in on-call rotations for support and implement automated systems to monitor application health and performance.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends in software engineering, analytics, data visualization, language processing, and O&M best practices.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly is required.
- Bachelors and 5-14 years of related experience
- Will consider additional 4 years' experience with a HS diploma in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Solid professional experience in software engineering, with a specific focus on O&M of analytics and data-driven applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and experience with data visualization tools and frameworks.
- Knowledgeable in data ingestion, ETL processes, and database management (SQL/NoSQL).
- Familiarity with O&M tools and practices, including monitoring systems and incident management.
- Understanding of machine learning model deployment and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development process experience and proficiency with related tools (JIRA, Git).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with NLP and language translation APIs for software solutions.
- A track record of active contributions to open-source projects or a public code repository (e.g., GitHub).
