SAIC is looking for a temporary Systems Engineer in PMA 290, Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office, directly supporting the Joint Program Office (JPO) for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).*

Note- this is a temporary role expected to end April of 2025. Due to the temporary nature of this role, benefits will not be provided.

This will be a hybrid role at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, with duties completed both at home and on base as required. Local candidates are encouraged to apply. 

Job Duties:

  • Support the PMA-290 JPO APMSE in all phases of the NAVAIR engineering processes including system design, validation and verification of requirements, review, editing, and development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Interim Flight Clearance (IFC) development. 
  • Assessment of domestic ECPs for potential impact on FMS customer configurations, roles, and operating environment
  • Track status of all assigned ECPs and present status updates during meetings with a variety of different stakeholders including Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) representatives
  • Support the Airworthiness Flight Clearance Process including preparation of interim documentation.
  • Prepare Configuration Management documentation as required to support the ECP and Airworthiness processes and review
  • Researching and providing technical data to support FMS customer for Requests For Information, including assessing if information is releasable
  • Coordination with the P-8A Reliability Control Board and representation of JPO needs and interests
  • Support development of additional acquisition documentation such as Statement of Work (SOW) and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)s
  • Liaison with internal PMA 290 IPTs to ensure accurate communication of technical information and to support resolving actions and decision-making processes

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical discipline with two (2) years of experience. Additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • 2+ years of experience supporting NAVAIR
  • Familiarity with the NAVAIR Engineering Change Proposal process.
  • Familiarity with FMS customers and document release

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
