SAIC is seeking a talented Senior Security Specialist to support NSWC Crane and the Navy Hypersonic Program Office.
NOTE: This position is located at the Customer Site in Washington Navy Yard and includes flexibility for some telework. Position requires travel (up to 25%) to national test range sites and program stakeholder locations in DC, Albuquerque, Denver, Huntsville, and Crane.
The Security Specialist will assist the Navy Hypersonic Program Office across security activities to ensure protection of information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, and materials. The ideal candidate will have industrial security experience and familiarity with DoD Security Classification Guides.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to the program office security team with recommendations and corrective actions as required.
- Enforce policies for document and access controls, transmission of sensitive information and materials, and related information controls and safeguards.
- Generate and update training packages to ensure that personnel are informed of security requirements (i.e., OPSEC briefings).
- Work with the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) to review and clear a variety of documents that will be released.
- Support and advise meetings and briefings for events.
- Support updates to the Program Security Classification Guide (SCG) and provide security guidance to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing security guidance and planning for flight test activities, to include development of Flight Test Security Plans.
- Support Visitor Access Requests (VARs).
Other duties may be assigned to include:
- Support security activities at test ranges in preparation for flight test events.
- Review annual security training requirements.
- Assist with maintenance and processing of Security Information Files.
- Draft or prepare a variety of documents to include responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents.
- Process various security related documentation, including issuance of access and/or identification credentials, as well as other documents related to access control.
- Assist with response to security incidents.
- Assisting with Cyber Security Guidance.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- US Citizenship Required.
- Secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process Secret Clearance with ability to obtain.
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years relevant experience.
- Prior Security role for DoD or Federal Agency.
- Experience writing SOPs, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service oriented with strong oral and written communication skills. This position will require heavy interface with various customers/stakeholders.
- Experience supporting DoD Hypersonic, Missile Defense, or Unmanned Systems programs.
- Knowledge of DoD guidance on classified materials and handling, destruction and storage, CUI/S classification Categories.
DESIRED:
- Prior SSP Program experience.
- Experience with implementing Security for Program Test activities.
- Experience developing/updating security classification guidance.
- Familiarity with OUSD R&E Hypersonics for Military Systems and Applications Security Classification Guide SCG.
- Familiarity with Navy Conventional Prompt Strike SCG.
- Cyber Security Background or some technical experience.
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
