SAIC is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Enterprise Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) team in El Segundo, CA. SE&I provides engineering, integration, technical analysis, and subject matter expertise support to the US Space Force.

As a member of our PNT SE&I team, you'll work in a high-paced environment with government personnel and system developers to ensure that Global Positioning System (GPS) remains the gold standard for positioning, navigation, and timing.  The successful candidate will collaborate and communicate with the SE&I leadership team to ensure NAVWAR processes and products are delivered with quality and professionalism.

Major duties of this position include:

  • Provide guidance and technical support for Crypto Management and NAVWAR
  • Manage team of engineers in creating and maintaining software analysis tools
    • Personnel management of the NAVWAR team (e.g., tasks, deadlines, and timecards)
    • Implementation of Y-code and M-code cryptographic algorithms
    • Validation of National Security Agency (NSA) operational key material
    • Support of GPS enterprise testing
    • Support the PNT Enterprise in implementing GPS: capabilities, requirements, architectures, concepts, designs, and technologies
  • Collaborate with the government team, other program government leads, external organizations, and prime contractors
  • Actively participate as a Subject Matter Expert in the GPS requirements process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Science
  • 9 years of overall experience
  • Current/Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Demonstrated experience developing and evaluating software
  • Demonstrated understanding of System Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience working with or for the government
  • Demonstrated experience writing and delivering technical documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

 

Desired:

  • Current/Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • GPS experience
  • Experience with MS Visual Studio C++, Python, and MATLAB
  • Experience and familiarity working with DoD acquisition organizations
  • Experience working specifically on a Systems Engineering and Integration contract
  • Experience and familiarity working with Space Systems Command
  • Experience and familiarity working with cryptography and cryptographic systems

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
