SAIC is seeking a Field Technician to join our team in Panama City, Florida
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with vessel pre-startup checklist. Checking fluid levels, checking fuel for contamination, troubleshooting faults & alarms, etc.
- Responsible for assisting with all vessel related repairs; mechanical & electrical.
- Responsible for accurate reporting of work performed, reporting of hours worked, and reporting vessel condition.
- May be required to travel to various ports of call (CONUS/OCONUS) when vessel repair/maintenance is required that is beyond the scope of available technical help.
- May be required to assist with fabrication and assembly of replacement and spare parts.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and zero (0) years related experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications:
- Experience working on marine engines, outdrives, and outboard motors required. OEM Certification a plus.
- Experience working with marine electronics required – GPS, radar, AIS, radios, etc.
- Experience with vessel trailer operations and maneuvering.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical drawings and other documents.
- Ability to work in small, confined spaces such as engine rooms and hull compartments required.
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled spaces during all seasons.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- Travel 10%-20%. CONUS/OCONUS.
- Captain's license a plus, but not required.
- Welding experience a plus, but not required.
Clearance:
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
