SAIC is seeking an onsite Asset Management Technician
Asset Management Services are the activities associated with process of the ongoing management and tracking of the lifecycle of IT Service components (e.g., equipment, software and software licenses, maintenance agreements, circuits) and their attributes (e.g., location, costs, depreciation, contracts, Vendor, serial numbers). Asset management includes all networks and systems maintained by NNSA.
The following activities identify the required Asset Management Services responsibilities that the Vendor will perform across all in-scope environments.
1. Support the management life cycle of for all in-scope assets, including maintaining the accuracy of data, (e.g., identification, requisition, ordering, receipt, inventory, installation, maintenance to disposal) within the Asset Management system. Include considerations for cloud, and data center Infrastructure assets).
2. Track warranty and licenses for in-scope software and hardware following the asset management process and the end-user device depot service.
3. Support the management of inventory throughout the Asset life cycle for all in-scope assets (e.g., servers, software, endpoint devices) to ensure compliance with NNSA requirements.
4. Support updates to in-scope Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records related to all Change activities (e.g., Install/Move/Add/Change activities, Break/Fix activities, and Change Management).
5. Provide mission asset management, peripheral installation, maintenance, and configuration for desktops, laptops, thin clients, and other network and infrastructure devices as required.
6. Support Asset sampling audits (as agreed to by both Parties), in accordance with Asset Management service levels, to validate that data in the Asset systems is accurate and current.
Primary duties will include:
- Communicating effectively and professionally with customers, organizational IT Points of Contact, management, coworkers, via email, MS Teams chat, phone calls
- Disconnecting/moving/reconnecting IT equipment (laptops, desktops, docking stations, monitors, printers, scanners, etc.)
- Removal and wiping of HDDs and SSDs
- Updating asset assignment and/or location in ITSM
- Installing hardware and related drivers (printers, scanners, dual-monitor stands)
- Troubleshooting hardware, including but not limited to laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, other peripherals
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree and 5 yrs of related experience or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Must be a US Citizen.
- DOD Top Secret or DOE Q level clearance desired. Must be able to obtain a clearance.
- Experience installing, replacing, troubleshooting hardware preferred
- Experience with MS Windows preferred Experience with ServiceNow
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position which involves a significant amount of standing, walking, bending, disconnecting and reconnecting cables and peripherals, physically picking up hardware. May involve reaching under desks, behind desks in potentially dirty/dusty locations.
Desired qualifications:
- A+ Preferred
- Familiarity with Active Directory
Job location:
Primarily the Department of Energy's Forrestal building, but some travel may be required between Washington, DC locations and the Germantown, MD location.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
