Title: Pharmacy Technician II

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Pharmacy Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Assists a licensed pharmacist, as directed, in compounding, preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing of both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals to fill valid prescriptions or medication orders. Performs essential functions related to pharmaceutical compounding, medication distribution, quality assurance and compliance, and medication inventory management, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and complies with all federal and New York State laws, rules, and regulations as promulgated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy. Responsible for all duties related to the Pharmacy Assistants.

Salary range for this position is $43,768 - $53,708 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Certification Requirement
1. National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required.
2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience.

NOTE:
1. Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment.
2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate should have a Associate's degree or higher and hospital/institutional pharmacy experience. The preferred candidate should have sterile compounding and chemotherapy sterile compounding experience.
