Title: Grant Administrator

FTE:

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Works with the faculty and researchers within the department to increase the number of high-quality submissions resulting in an increase of external funding.
Coordinates application preparation, including editing, proofreading, formatting and revising applications. Locates appropriate funding opportunities for investigators. Maintains department database for application opportunities and applications submitted. Provides training and technical assistance to investigators and other administrative support staff as needed. Administers all aspects of pre and post-award administration of grant and contract funding and preparation and submission of grant applications. Manages day-to-day operations, reporting and report development, account expenditure forecasting and analysis, sponsor guideline interpretation for department.

Salary range for this position is $65,164 - $80,860 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in grant administration, accounting, budget preparation, financial analysis or research administrative support in a healthcare, academic, non-profit, research or related setting; or
2. Associate's degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in grant administration, accounting, budget preparation, financial analysis or research administrative support in a healthcare, academic, non-profit, research or related setting; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of seven (7) years of full-time experience in grant administration, accounting, budget preparation, financial analysis or research administrative support in a healthcare, academic, non-profit, research or related setting.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:

  • Experience with grant and contract application development (identifying opportunities, reviewing RFA, drafting budgets, determining what components are required for application, working to finalize materials, compile and submit application, track submission status to ensure compliance with RFA, ensure timely submission).
  • Experience using various sponsor databases for application submission.
  • Experience with post award management (effort allocation, budget monitoring, sub agreement processing and tracking, invoice preparation and processing, preparing progress reports.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a database to track projects from application submission to close-out.
  • Experience developing training materials, coordinating and participating in trainings.
  • Experience identifying areas of strength and weakness to create SOP's to guide and enhance workflow.
  • Experience planning events/annual meetings.
