Organization Overview

Our lab consists of 15 lab members (Research Assistants,Graduate Students,and Postdocs) studying the molecular basis of obesity-associated diseases. Our studies focus on the biology of white and brown adipose tissue and span from basic molecular and cell biology to whole animal physiology and human subjects.
Overview

The lab manager will be responsible for overseeing lab operations including ordering, budgeting, and maintenance of equipment and in assisting and overseeing experiments involving animal phenotyping (metabolic analyses including indirect calorimetry) and bench work such as molecular biology and biochemistry.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Bench work including molecular biology and biochemistry techniques
  • Animal colony maintenance and phenotyping
  • Lab management activities including ordering supplies, budgeting, and maintaining equipment
  • Supervision of Research Assistants in the lab

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; educational emphasis in Biology (including molecular biology and biochemistry) strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with animal models, cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with lab management tasks including ordering, protocols, and lab organization

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.


Compensation Range: Min

USD $70,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max

USD $80,000.00/Yr.
