Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including compiling, analyzing, and reconciling all payroll components. Reporting to the Corporate Payroll Manager, this role requires strong analytical skills to address complex payroll scenarios, troubleshoot issues, and provide resolutions to employee inquiries. The Payroll Specialist collaborates closely with HR, IT, Finance, and Sales teams to ensure accurate data collection and payroll processing, including commissions, incentives, and time and attendance.

In this role, you will
  • Administer payrolls with precision, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll-related inquiries through the RNDC Service Management System (ServiceNow).
  • Support management with special projects and process improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison between Human Resources, Operations, and Collective Bargaining Unit representatives.
  • Audit time sheets, work charts, wage computations, and other payroll-related data to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
  • Analyze and enhance current payroll practices for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new payroll team members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
     
What you bring to RNDC

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience processing multi-state, multi-FEIN payrolls.
  • Experience with large HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, UKG, Workday).

Technical & Compliance

  • Strong understanding of payroll processing, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with payroll system testing, troubleshooting, and process enhancements.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws and jurisdictional compliance.

Soft Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams.
