Description

Responsible for

  • Ensure the members of the Engineering Team understand their SHEQ responsibilities and have the necessary qualifications, training, competence and experience to carry out their duties in a safe and compliance manner. Ensure maintenance and engineering policies are implemented across all assets, including asset integrity management.
  • Ensure Contractors carrying out engineering work on company assets are suitably qualified, competent and experienced to carry out their duties in a safe and compliance manner. Management of contractor approval process.
  • Drive improvements in Process Safety across site. Leads on investigations into asset incidents / accidents in accordance with company procedure.
  • Manage the activities and workload of the Engineering Team – being accountable for overall asset health and long-term replacement programme.
  • Responsible for defining critical spares and ensuring spares are managed to ensure availability as and when required. Management of engineering stores and third party provider.
  • Manage the maintenance service contracts ensuring services are provided in line with service agreement delivery, value for money, quality, making recommendations for improvements following contract review.
  • Regularly review the maintenance programme with key stakeholders to ensure the business is aware of any equipment outages that will affect availability and/or deliverables.
  • Understand and follow the Management of Change (MOC) process – taking the lead on programmes to change any site assets.
  • Control of Maintenance Budget.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all direct reports within the Engineering Team, monitoring progress of personal objectives. Develop and monitor training and development plans for the Engineering Team.
  • Plan staffing levels within the Engineering Team, working with HR to effectively recruit, select and induct new team members.
  • Coordinate maintenance and engineering activities through prioritising and delegating appropriately. Carry out safety audits and acceptance evaluations of new equipment or processes.
