SUMMARY Direct the activities associated with the Practical Nursing Program. These activities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the details of program offerings, scheduling classes, lab operations, curriculum review, conducting advisory committee meetings, and making recommendations for faculty hiring, budgeting, and purchasing. May participate in classroom instruction.

These activities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the details of program offerings, scheduling classes, lab operations, curriculum review, conducting advisory committee meetings, and making recommendations for faculty hiring, budgeting, and purchasing. May participate in classroom instruction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership to the program and administer all aspects of the practical nursing education program, including curriculum oversight and review, continuous quality evaluation using the Program Evaluation Plan, and meeting all requirements for continuing accreditation.
- Facilitate and coordinate activities related to academic policies, personnel policies,
resources, facilities, services, laboratories, and clinical sites. - Prepare and administer the budget in coordination with the Campus Director
- Oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and evaluation in teaching ability
and nursing knowledge and skills. Determine faculty load. - Maintain policies or procedures that promote safe patient care during student clinical
experiences. - Teach in the classroom.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, advisement, and retention of students,
working to ensure a diverse student body. - Maintain professional education to ensure optimal role development.
- Participate in activities that contribute to the governance of the parent institution and
use campus and corporate reporting systems appropriately and efficiently. - Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with the community of interest.
- Insure and document the nursing education program's compliance with the Nurse
Practice Act, the Board Rules and Regulations, and all other state and federal guidelines. - Identify and advocate for services needed by students in the nursing education program.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain visibility in professional, academic, regulatory, and local communities. Develop, schedule, and chair faculty meetings. Participate in community service projects and
presentations.

PHYSICAL TASKS
Sort, separate, and file documents and forms. Write. Requires hearing to normal range.
METHODS, TECHNIQUES, PROCEDURES

EQUIPMENT, AIDS, TOOLS, MATERIALS
Utilizes office equipment such as telephone, copier, printer, and computer. Utilizes medical equipment such as stethoscope, intravenous infusion pump, fetal monitor, and
orthopedic trapeze. Utilizes teaching equipment such as a projector, interactive smartboard, online resources, and computerized testing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to indoor classroom, lab, and office environment. Contact with employees, students, and the public. Exposure to biohazardous materials such as blood and saliva.
CONTROL SUPERVISION
Supervise the Clinical Director and program faculty.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program recognized by the U.S.
Secretary of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). - Three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience as a professional nurse providing direct patient care.
- Three (3) years of teaching experience in an approved PN nursing education program or above.
- Current RN License and any other credential as required by local, state, and/or federal laws to work in the Nursing field.
- Documented knowledge and skills related to teaching adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, and curriculum evaluation.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills preferred.
