Position Summary:

This role's primary focus is to lead and facilitate the EAC Program (Eliminate, Automate, Centralize) and some High Value Projects pillars for our Penske Logistics, Business Improvement team. This position offers considerable visibility to all Penske Logistics Product Lines and Enabling Groups and to many different types of projects and processes. It offers the opportunity to collaborate with Executive Leadership and Penske Associates at all levels on initiatives critical to our strategy of Teamwork, Technology and Tomorrow.

Major Responsibilities:

EAC Program

The EAC Program involves leading significant cross-function collaboration, communication and facilitation through the EAC Steering Team, which coordinates strategies and projects to create efficiencies and time-savings across PL's Enabling Groups and 5 Product Lines in the Unites States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. This includes overall ownership of the EAC Project database, metrics scorecard, awards and governance processes in addition to planning major EAC events, communications and meetings.

High Value Projects

In addition, this position will Project Manage, major High Value Projects for Operations and Enabling groups related to Automation, Centralization, Customer Value, Penske Capabilities Development, Associate Engagement, Risk Mitigation and Growth.

Player-Coach Role

In a player-coach role, this position will also be responsible for assigning projects to their direct-report Managers and coaching and mentoring their team on EAC and High Value Projects. They will also delegate task ownership related to the EAC Program administration.

Business Process Automation

Business Process Automation is a key component of EAC. This position will be responsible for the creation & review (based on the team's recommendations) of Automation Opportunity Assessments, Business Cases and recommendations for the Automation Governance Team's go-forward decisions on automations, including optimal technology type to be utilized. For Robotic Process Automations (RPA), this position will facilitate and oversee the end-to-end RPA technology solution development life cycle, facilitating with all PL stakeholders and PTL RPA technology team.

Lean Programs

This position is responsible for leading and providing training, program facilitation and awards and recognition for PQS (Penske Quality Systems) Programs to our Corporate Enabling Groups. These programs focus on quality, continuous improvement and innovation being practiced within the DNA of our organizational culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferred area of study in Business, Supply Chain or Economics
  • Master's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Lean Certification (required within 2 years of role)
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
  • 7+ years experience as a Manager or Leader for a Quality Enabling Group AND / OR an Operations Group with a strong Lean focus.
  • Advanced Lean Knowledge Required
  • Adanced Problem Solving and Process Improvement tools and methods required
  • Advanced Project & Functional Area Management required
  • Broad Product Line Expertise in Dedicated Contract Carriage, Distribution Center Management and Freight Management strongly preferred.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
