Summary of Job Description:
The Vice President, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for achieving optimal strategy and programs related to Strategic Sourcing for Direct Sourcing, including supplier strategic relationship, selection, evaluation, negotiation, and contract establishment for all raw material purchases for PRG concepts. This position plays a key role in managing cost reduction and raw material expenditures for all PRG stores for major sourcing categories with annual procurement of well over a billion dollars. This position leads a group of management and staff within Strategic Sourcing for all Direct categories.
You'll get a chance to:
- Establish and ensure the execution of the company's Direct Sourcing programs in support of its business strategy and plan.
- Serve as a key advisor to the SVP, SCM and to Senior Leadership team on achieving optimal cost of goods for PRG stores.
- Ensure all food and supplies are procured at the optimum price while maintaining the quality required as well as achieving food safety level required.
- Contribute strategically to AOP, commodity pricing, business improvement process, and product improvement programs.
- Oversee the development and execution of long-term strategic sourcing plans, leveraging the 10-step sourcing process for direct sourcing initiatives, anticipating future growth, risk management, capacity planning and other business requirements.
- The plan includes establishing strategic relationships, identifying supplier sources, production capacity, and suppliers' long-term plan as well as industry trends, government regulations, FDA rulings, etc.
- Lead a team of strategic sourcing managers and staff, coaching and developing the team to achieve collaboration and a cohesive strategy by setting the vision in the context of culture, structure, strategy, process, and procedure.
- Elevate and support the growth of the team through formal and informal training as well as personal coaching.
- Establish optimal programs, including procurement contracts, and strategic relationships that are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and growth.
- Ensure that the procurement team arrange optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contracts.
- Advise internal stakeholders and Senior Leadership on the availability of specific products and pricing, assessing new suppliers and facilities in terms of safety, service, quality, cost, growth, capacity, capability, and business culture best fit.
- Provide strategic leadership for cross-functional initiatives, aligning efforts across departments and Operations to achieve company objectives.
- Oversee collaboration between sourcing and cross-functional teams to drive key projects, including Product Operation Tests, Market Tests, and Limited Time Offers (LTOs), ensuring timely execution, and addressing unique raw material requirements.
- Serve as a strategic partner with the executive team, providing insights on industry trends related to direct sourcing categories and suppliers, to ensure a state-of-the-art SCM capability at PRG.
- Remain current on all applicable laws and legal situations related to SCM and the retail hospitality industry.
- Assess the effectiveness of Direct Sourcing and make modifications to the strategy or create new approaches

Your background and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business required; MBA degree or CPSM certification preferred
- Minimum fifteen years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Pay Range: E1: $242,500 - $384,000 / Annual

While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high.
