Job Skills / Requirements Our 2iC at this healthcare facility in Coquitlam is responsible for the administration of site schedules, training new Security Officers, and supporting the Supervisor in day to day operations to ensure the site is running smoothly.
This healthcare facility is focused on patients with mental health and/or substance abuse issues, which presents our team with a unique and challenging environment. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the security industry, experience in a leadership role, and CARE for our industry.
Shifts: 1600-0000hrs, 5 days per week (TBD based on candidate preference)
Pay Rate: $27.89/hour
Candidates with a reliable personal vehicle are preferred as this job site is difficult to access by transit at times.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Shift Supervisors and Portfolio Resource Coordinator to oversee staffing levels and maintain the site schedule
- Oversee that all Officer training requirements are completed
- Read, review, and investigate reports of incidents documented by the security staff and ensure the appropriate departments are notified
- Develop, administer, and oversee training for new site employees and refresher training for site employees
- Maintain and audit first aid equipment and send status reports to CSM
- Conduct and oversee investigations into issues or incidents on site and provide complete and comprehensive reports
- Serve as a link between tenants, members of the public, Paladin Security management, and the client
- Perform other duties to meet operational needs
- Minimum of two years of work experience in the security industry
- Minimum of one year of supervisory / managerial work experience
- Minimum of one year of experience completing administrative tasks, preferably with scheduling and OH&S
- Valid BC Security License
- Valid AST would be an asset; must be comfortable with physical interventions
- Valid OFA2 certification is an asset; training will be provided to the successful candidate
- Knowledge of access control, fire control, CCTV, and other site-related systems; Control Officer experience is an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to understand complex scenarios, including emergency situations, and to come up with plans and procedures to effectively counter them
- Confidence in dealing with people management issues, working with HR, and in effectively handling interpersonal issues
