The site Shift Lead(s) is responsible for the oversight of the operations of the team, in conjunction with the needs of the site, and will:

- Acts as first point of contact, liaison representation with Security Coordinators, Clinical Management and Infrastructure - escalation to Paladin Security Operations Lead.
- Coordinate and supervise team regarding NLHS policies and best practices.
- Provide a proactive vested approach to post orders, emergency events, policies, procedures and safety and security approach to the NLHS security program.
- Afterhours primary contact and support for sentinel events, critical incidents, and/or onsite security risk event functions.
- Coordinate after action review and investigations of critical/sentinel incidents with vested best practice approach and disseminates relevant information and training to involved Security Officers.
- Monitor compliance, reporting and statistical data, service deliverables, audits and update appropriate spreadsheets for Paladin and PIPS.
- Conducts attendance and performance management of the security team (coaching, mentoring, disciplinary measures and setting targets and benchmarks to improve performance and service deliverables). Conduct one on one touchpoints for your team.
- Ensure the proper use of MOAB de-escalation & control skills, and contemporaneous notes are documented properly before, during, and after applying these skills. Identify deficiencies and follow up with SOL & Training and Onboarding Coordinator.
- Vested approach in supporting the development of new and current staff.
- Provides regular feedback to CSMs challenges and improvements to Paladin's committed service.
- Ensure all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security Policies and Eastern Health Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all Security Officers have received the mandatory site orientation, training and required compliance training.

- Motivates staff and submits CARE Award commendations through ERC with email follow up to the Supervisor.
- Document and investigate security incidents and complaints, ensure all proper documentation is forwarded in accordance with the chain of command in a timely manner.
- Daily paperwork would include but not limited to, shift swaps authorized and documented for approval, incident reports documented and written properly. Check for updated documents from the client to action. Any forms or information left by staff for filing or follow up and any other daily paperwork that must be filed or forwarded to appropriate recipient. Progressive discipline documentation is issued and forwarded to CSM and P&C.
- Occupational Health and Safety documentation including Lone Worker (Team Time shift check in), National Shift Hazard Assessment, Forms 7, Near Miss, First Aid Report, debriefs
- Supervise the security officers assigned to the site and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with the health authority and regulatory requirements. Assist all officers with responsibilities delegated to them.
- Assist with departmental site schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered and assist with coverage where needed.
- There will also be unscheduled and scheduled meetings to attend and last-minute bookings for sick employees or coverage of shifts if necessary.
- Coordinate site patrols and coordinate Emergency Code calls to efficiently maintain site wide coverage. Rove around the units and request supportive feedback from the clinical team involved with incidents and general feedback to identify any concerns, compliments or information.
- Complete Shift Lead site check in patrols and respond to Code calls. *
- Assist with conducting regular fire drills and security education sessions. Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other safety and security incident documentation.
- Perform other duties as requested by the client NL Health Services in conjunction with Paladin management.
Previous managerial/supervisory experience
High School Diploma/GED
