Position: Full Time Downtown Transit Security Guard
Site: City of Brampton, Downtown Transit Termina - 8 Nelson Street West, Brampton, ON L6X1B7
Hours: Continental Day - 0700-1900hrs.
Payrate: $19.83/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Schedule Example:
Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu
Week 3 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat
Week 4 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu
Key Responsibilities:
- Responding to and reporting all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity and hazardous situations.
- Unlocking and locking doors
- Providing access control
- Providing uniform security presence and completing proactive patrols of the terminal stops and platforms
- Completing proactive patrols for terminal lobbies and customer service areas
- Deterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, alcohol use, skateboarding, and cycling on platforms and driveways
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the city.
- Ability to work alone or in a team
- Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols, and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
- Ability to write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day to day activities
- Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons
- Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Logging in/out of Key, Radio and pager audits
- Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries
- Report any unsafe working conditions in any/all departments
- Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
- Respond to all types of occurrences.
- Patrol interior and exterior,
- May be moved to other terminal sites as per operational needs.
Prerequisites:
- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
