Overview

The Business and Fiduciary Support Specialist at OnPoint Community Credit Union serves as a support resource and expert for business and fiduciary deposit products and services. This role effectively utilizes resources to consistently provide exceptional customer service to members, branches and other departments. Guides employees through complex business or fiduciary deposit account opening and providing service support as needed.  Conducts account research to resolve member issues in a timely manner. Accomplishes multiple assignments and projects with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines. Provides support and training to other OnPoint employees as needed. This position reports to the Fiduciary Operations Assistant Manager with a ‘dotted line' to the Business Deposit Program Manager.

 

Responsibilities

 

Essential Functions:

  • Divides time equally between the Fiduciary Support team and the Business Support team, adjusting schedule as needed by workload.
  • Provides professional, world-class service to our members and fellow employees regarding OnPoint's business accounts and deposit services, including researching and resolving complex issues.
  • Provide accurate, on-demand support for our members and fellow employees regarding all types of fiduciary deposit accounts and services. Including, but not limited to: Trust, Minor Settlement accounts, Estates, Representative Payee accounts, Powers of Attorney, etc.
  • Process Garnishments and Levies within time and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide support to members and fellow employees regarding Garnishment and Levy research and questions.  
  • Performs reviews to ensure business signature cards, signer changes, IOLTAs and ongoing maintenance is performed according to procedure. Provides guidance to frontline staff regarding needed changes/updates and makes corrections when warranted.
  • Performs audits on Fiduciary membership applications, signer changes, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Welcomes a challenge and is able to accomplish assignments and projects with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines.
  • Provides input to increase operational efficiencies and control department / OnPoint expenses.
  • Complies with all security, confidentiality, and internal control procedures.
  • Schedules time and resources to ensure all work is completed accurately and on schedule.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to document procedures
  • Ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve operational and member issues
  • Proven accuracy, thoroughness, analytical and organizational skills in completing work assignments.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to successfully resolve difficult member interactions in order to obtain a positive resolution for both OnPoint and the member.
  • Strong understanding of credit union operations, procedures and applicable regulations
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience in a financial institution directly dealing with business relationships, products and services preferred.
  • Experience working with fiduciary accounts, understanding business entities, deposit regulation and IRS Tax Reporting a plus.
