Summary:
Accomplish the Family Services Department objectives by attempting to reduce the use and impact of violence through educational and advocacy services to children, teens, and their families. Providing empowerment strategies and individual and group curriculum to teach healthy relationship and lifestyle skills. Ensure that services are provided effectively and efficiently to the Oneida Nation. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
Responsibilities:
* Practice excellent and trauma informed customer service at all times
* Receive and process referrals for youth services.
* Provide mentorship and advocacy for youth.
* Provide services on an individual basis, through mentorship and advocacy
* Facilitate educational group for youth on site and at other community locations.
* Assess youth needs and assist with goal development
* Develop program curriculum to best meet youth needs and goals
* Provide referrals to appropriate community resources
* Provide access to culturally based activities
* Provide crisis intervention as needed
* Prepare and submit correspondence; narrative and statistical reports; and other documents as required.
* Maintain accurate data collection and case file management
* Provide technical assistance, training, and education to local community groups, schools, and external agencies.
* Collaborate with community partners on outreach activities and events
* Participate in all internal staff development opportunities
* Maintain professional knowledge by attending training and educational opportunities.
* Adhere to grant goals, objectives, and all related requirements
Skills:
Essential:
* Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
* Knowledge of available community resources

* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
* Knowledge of social issues impacting youth and young adults

* Operating computer and various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment
* Knowledge of the Oneida community, its history and culture.
Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services or related field.
Credentials:
Nonessential:
* Child Abuse Reporting Policy (CARP), within ninety (90) days of employment.

Experience:
Essential:
* One (1) year recent (within 5 years) direct practice experience providing mentoring or advocacy for youth.
* One (1) year recent (within 5 years) direct practice experience working in the area of domestic abuse.
* One (1) year recent (within 5 years) group facilitation experience.
* One (1) year experience in developing community education programs and/or curriculum development.
Nonessential:
* Two (2) or more years recent (within 5 years) direct practice experience working with youth.
* Two (2) years recent (within 5 years) direct practice experience working in the area of domestic abuse/sexual assault.
* Two (2) or more years recent (within 5 years) group facilitation experience.
* Two (2) year experience in developing community education programs and/or curriculum development.
* One (1) or more years recent (within 5 years) grant experience.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
