Summary:
In alignment with the Nation's vision, mission and core values, this position will assist in the development and execution of the Nation's political strategy at the national, state, tribal and local levels of government. Project management, strategic planning and intergovernmental activities are aimed to enhance the image and advance the political agenda of the Oneida Nation. Candidates may be required to take a business personality DISC assessment.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the development and execution of the Nation's political strategy at the national, state, tribal and local levels of government.
* Manage, lead, coordinate and communicate strategic plans on specific legislative issues or projects.
* Research and analyze federal, state, local and tribal legislation, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to determine impacts to the Nation.
* Advocate, promote and educate members of Congress, State Legislature, legislative staff, Tribes, national/regional organizations, and communities about the Oneida Nation and our position on legislative issues.
* In coordination with the Nation's organization and lobbyists, draft testimony, speeches, consultation comments to federal and state agencies, and talking points on various legislative topics.
* Assist in the development and execution of the Nation's Get Out the Vote strategic plan.
* Work with Communications/Public Relations to develop and coordinate public information and community campaigns relating to legislative impacts, projects, and initiatives.
* Establish, develop, and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with tribal, federal, local, and state officials, communities, agencies, and organizations.
* Network and participate in meetings, events, and conferences as a representative of the Nation. (Note: Travel will be required to fulfill this objective)
* Monitor the Federal Register daily.
* Provide timely written or oral reports as required.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
