- Certification Details
- BLS, NRP, and AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications required
- BLS and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
- Traveler must pass the BCA testing during the first week of assignment
- Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed

- RN needed for our Family Birthing Center - Labor and Delivery and Mother-Baby Trained
- 13 weeks assignment
- 2 years experience in current specialty required
- Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast-paced environment
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
- EMR: EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Job Requirements
- Please only submit candidates with an active NM or compact license

- Schedule Information
- 12 hour varied shift position
- Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs
- No On call; however, weekends and holidays as needed
- Unit Specific Information
- antepartum: assess all triage patients >20 weeks
- use obstetric triage acuity tools
- labor assessment and evaluation
- fetal evaluation and assessment
- evaluation for labor at term, PTL signs, s/s of preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, decreased fetal movement, preterm premature rupture of membranes, vaginal bleeding, acute and critical conditions, such as MVA, large abruptio placentae
- if emergency medical condition is determined to exist must stabilize the patient for delivery or transfer to higher level of care if needed
- Intrapartum: labor assessment, evaluation, and care
- fetal evaluation and assessment
- preparation of expectant mother for safe delivery
- administration of medications including but not limited to: Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, insulin
- immediate stabilization of newborn
- administer newborn medications
- prep for scheduled or emergency cesarean delivery
- Postpartum/Newborn: assessment and care of postpartum (vaginal and cesarean deliveries) and newborn patients
- newborn care includes (but not limited to): hearing screen, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts and care, medication administration (hep B, vit K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assist with circumcisions, care of opiate withdrawal newborns, stabilization of critically ill newborns for transport, phototherapy, hypoglycemia care
- Additional Details
- Travelers must not have been an employee of the Presbyterian Healthcare Services system for 12 months from last day worked, in order to be considered for a travel position
- Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location
- State tax is passed through to your agency and will be reflected on your invoice. The state tax should be paid to the state of New Mexico
- ENSURE AN ACCURATE SS# and DOB IS ENTERED. IF NOT, TRAVELER MAY BE PUSHED/AGENCY SUSPENDED (creates I.T. onboarding issues)
