Description
Northwell Health is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our team as Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Co-Director of the Cohen Children's Heart Center. This person will help lead the ongoing transformation of our historically excellent cardiac programs into our multi-disciplinary, comprehensive, Cohen Children's Heart Center.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience performing pediatric
and adult congenital cardiac surgery and will have proven leadership abilities. Pediatric cardiac
surgery and pediatric heart transplantation are performed exclusively at the Cohen Children's
Medical Center (CCMC). Adult congenital cases are performed at North Shore University
Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital, and CCMC. Candidates of any tenure will be considered, and they
will be supported by our award-winning and collegial team of physicians at the Cohen
Children's Heart Center.
Requirements
- American Board of Surgery certification
- American Board of Thoracic Surgery/Congenital Cardiac certification
- Demonstrates excellent clinical outcomes with complex neonatal surgery
- Proficient with heart transplant, ECMO, and mechanical circulatory support
Northwell Health is strongly committed to this program in investing the resources need to assure its ongoing success, including a dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit which is in the final design phase. This role includes the opportunity for research, advocacy and education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Faculty appointment is at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and clinical rank will be commensurate with experience. The position will help oversee the growth and development of these programs and with the support and partnership from executive leadership at Cohen Children's Medical Center and Northwell Health.
