Position Overview:
Norfolk Southern's Talent Acquisition Team is seeking an experienced University Engagement Manager for our Early Careers Program to recruit top talent for Norfolk Southern's Intern, Management Trainee and early career positions across the organization. The position will provide leadership and strategy to their team, while building positive relationships with leaders throughout the organization.
The University Engagement Manager will manage and develop relationships with Universities throughout Norfolk Southern's 22 state region.
The University Engagement Manager will be responsible for the full scope of recruiting initiatives for University Programs across the entirety of the organization which includes but not limited to: Plan and implement full life cycle recruitment; entry level management, and intern hiring requisitions inclusive of sourcing, screening, and either onsite or virtual interviews. The University Engagement Manager will build lasting relationships with key university personnel and successfully build Norfolk Southern's brand as a choice employer for their students. The successful candidate will have experience managing and developing people.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates to gain input for the strategy's goals, vision, and priorities of NS.
- Effectively communicates to activate, educate, and align internal/external partners.
- Establishes NS's presence and engagement with early-in-career talent.
- Utilizes tools for capturing intern, graduate, and manager feedback.
- Benchmarks cross-industry programmatic standard methodologies and explore innovative approaches and technologies to develop early-in-career talent.
- Adopts standard processes to address market variances, as determined by legal and regulatory requirements, and/or market maturity.
- Builds key relationships with internal partners to assess business strategy and corresponding early-in-career skill and talent implications. Identifies and manages external partnerships with diversity-related organizations.
- Develops content and leads the roll-out of hiring manager education, on-campus campaigns, social media plans, etc. to bolster campus recruiting efforts.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition Specialist, Brand, Marketing, and Communications teams to further develop our employee value proposition.
- Develops, maintains, and produces time-based reporting processes, dashboards, metrics, and analytics to assess the efficacy of recruitment and program efforts.
Education:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- 5-7 years of related professional experience required.
