Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director and manager, the Radiologic Technologist is responsible for delivering quality patient care to all patient populations in Radiology during hours on duty. The Radiologic Technologist is a specialized medical professional and possesses skills and knowledge to competently provide diagnostic quality images with proper documentation of record requirements and radiation safety, maximizing the use of equipment and resources. The Radiologic Technologist interacts in a positive, service-oriented manner with patients, medical staff and peers and performs all radiographic procedures and all RIS/HIS procedures in the area(s) of assignment. The Radiologic Technologist must be able to perform under potentially stressful situations and care for all emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients.

Some of the Radiologic Technologist's primary responsibilities are:

  • Describes procedure and answers all patient questions prior to performing study and obtains patient history
  • Provides images and applicable post-processing to Radiologist for diagnostic interpretation
  • Precisely follows protocols and Radiologist's instructions to provide optimal studies
  • Proficient in intravenous access
  • Monitors patient's physical condition during course of exam

Experience

Acute care hospital experience within the past three years is preferred.

Education

As necessary for required licensure.

Licensure/Certifications

The Radiologic Technologist must have current licensure with the State of California in Fluoroscopy and Diagnostic Radiography. All technologists must be current with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT licensure in CT is preferred and required within six months following completion of training. Must have current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Night shift - 80 hours per pay period

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience):

$53.25

to

$71.22

The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.

Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $3.49

Hourly Night Shift Differential: $5.24
