Position qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business related field required. Eligibility may be established on the basis of six (6) years experience in lieu of a degree. Minimum three (3) years progressive experience in health care billing field, preferably mental health services. This experience should include supervisory and/or leadership duties.
Job purpose:
Oversees Mental Health Center and Psychiatric Hospital revenue cycle. Plans, organizes and implements activities and procedures to effectively administer revenue cycle best practices. Maintains key performance indicators, quality controls, compliance measures and performance standards to meet SMT strategic planning objectives.
Knowledge, Skill & Ability(include materials and equipment directly used):
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, regulatory compliance, data processing, general office procedures, electronic data interchange and accounting principles as they relate to subsidiary and general ledgers.
- Ability to provide leadership both independently and as a member of senior management team in decision making, implementation, and quality compliance.
- Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions. Possible exposure to communicable disease.
