Overview:

 

Coordinates accurate verification of approximately 8,000 practitioner files forinitial appointment and reappointment within established time frames and in accordance with the standardsrequired by the accrediting/regulatory agencies for all Mercy Network, Mercy Clinic and Mercy Hospitals. This includes preparing and sending applications, gathering, entering and verifyinginformation received in the application process and communicating verbally and written with applicants as necessary to complete their application. Specialist must be detail oriented and have ability to understand complex credentialingrequirements needed by facility and variances for credentialing in multiple states. Must be deadline driven and can easily adapt to expedited requests. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or previous data entry or credentialing experience may be substituted for education.

     

  • Experience: Previous credentialing or database entry experience preferred. Applicant must be detail oriented and able to work in a demanding and fast paced work environment. Analytical experience preferred.

     

  • Certifications: Valid certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and/or Certified Professional Medical Services management (CPMSM) preferred. Certification must be passed within two years of becoming eligible for exam.

     

  • Other: Detail oriented. Able to easily adapt to change. Self-starter. Position requires long hours sitting at a computer. Some travel is required. Position requires flexible hours outside of the normal work day.

     

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
