General Summary of Position
Professional care provider who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team

PRN Group III/B Nurse - Medical Intermediate Care Unit (2 North) (Georgetown)

2 North is an 18-bed adult Medical Intermediate Care Unit that opened in 2016 and has since been awarded twice with the Silver AACN Beacon Award for Excellence. All rooms on 2 North are outfitted with the latest GE beside physiological equipment to monitor continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry. The team utilizes innovative best-practice processes to provide expert care for acutely ill patients with diverse medical diagnoses. The Clinical Nurses on 2 North are the hospital peritoneal dialysis champions. Other diagnoses on the unit include but are not limited to end-stage renal disease, liver failure, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, CHF, COPD, and GI bleeds. 

The nursing team is a highly educated and motivated group of professionals that participate in collaborative governance, achieves certifications, and drives positive patient outcomes.

Education: Associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience: At least two (2) years recent acute care experience in the relevant patient care area required.

License/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure in the District of Columbia required. Certification in Basic Life Support required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Verbal and written communication skills.  Basic computer skills required.

This position has a hiring range of $38.00 - $63.30
