General Summary of Position
MedStar Health is looking for aMulti-Modality Technologist I to join ourteam!We are looking foroutstanding quality and customer service experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently.
As a Multi-Modality Technologist I, you willperform Nuclear Medicine and/or diagnostic medical radiographic exams and fluoroscopic exams in and out of the operating room setting. May operate mammography equipment, magnetic resonance scanner or CT (Computed Tomography) scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Produces computerized tomographic scanner or magnetic resonance scanner or radiographs of designated anatomical areas. May assist physicians with imaging guidance for biopsy procedures in diagnostic and one of the following: mammography, CT, or ultrasound.

Primary Duties:
Acquires raw data to obtain the best possible image. Assists physicians with imaging guidance for biopsy procedures. Enters patient data at start of examination and monitors data acquisition during procedure. Ensures images are of acceptable diagnostic quality and completeness.
Instructs and demonstrates the Imaging equipment operation and other technical aspects for professional staff and students.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains X-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order. Performs preventative maintenance regularly. Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repairs needed. 9. Operates control console for each patient's scan, including selection of proper imaging techniques; operates various peripheral hardware.
Performs basic radiography and fluoroscopy in and out of the operating room setting. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures, and addresses patient concerns. Performs IV Access and contrast injections per departmental policy. Requests and orders supply as needed to keep materials on hand. Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered. Ensures quality images.
Schedules examinations when needed to ensure smooth flow and optimalutilization of equipment.Transfers images to PACS for interpretation and storage. Transfers, positions, and instructs patients regarding the procedure to obtain and affect the desired radiographic diagnostic results as specified by the physician. Transport patients as needed to and from the department.
Qualifications:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).
Registered by the NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board).
1-2 years' experience in diagnostic radiology and/or nuclear medicine.
Licensed by the State of Maryland.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $59.26
