Description
General Summary of Position
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, provides advanced technical support and leadership in the pharmacy, including workflow management, process development and oversight, training and validation, and project management. Fulfills the duties of a pharmacy technician regularly.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required or
- Completion of an approved/accredited Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
- College coursework preferred
Experience
- 3-4 years Pharmacy technician experience in acute care, hospital setting preferred, with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility. BCPS, and residency, and three years management experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician District of Columbia Pharmacy Technician registration required or
- PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPHT) Pharmacy Technician certification through a nationally accredited certification examination (such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, or equivalent) required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of drug nomenclature and medical terminology; proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
