Description
The licensed clinician will serve as a resource to the nursing associates, physicians and patients regarding glycemic and diabetes education for inpatients; acts as the coordinator of the Glycemic Control Program and provides education, psychological and emotional support to patients and families. The ages of the patients served are infancy through adulthood. In addition, the clinician will support the Bariatric Program by accurately abstracting and entering data into the MBSAQIP data registry in a timely manner. The clinician will collaborate with the bariatric team to help identify opportunities for clinical improvement.
Education
- Bachelor's degree BSN required and
- Maryland license if applicable. required
- 5 years of experience in a clinical setting required
- CDE - Certified Diabetes Educator Certification Certified Diabetes Educator preferred or has qualifications to take the national exam within two years of hire and obtain credentials. required and
- Successful completion of the MBSCR Online Training Program within 1 year of hire. within 1 Year required
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Basic Computer skills to perform data entry and compile requested reports
- Computerized clinical information systems
