General Summary of Position
The incumbent provides technical and operational leadership for system enhancements, upgrades, and support for associated/interfaced clinical and financial systems within all appropriate departments in support of capacity management and campus projects. The incumbent also develops, presents, and maintains analytical tools based on output from the system, as it pertains to throughput and system effectiveness. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares capacity management analysis and assists MGUH leaders in identifying opportunities to enhance patient throughput.
  • Monitors and provides periodic capacity management and financial performance analysis.
  • Reviews and analyzes internal and external capacity management and associated financial trends and activities, recommends specific action to correct problems and enhance financial results and/or capacity management. Prepares and analyzes reports and information for internal and external presentations.
  • Performs complex financial analysis and offers recommendations regarding campus projects and capacity management program initiatives and business opportunities.
  • Directs and conducts a wide variety of special projects and activities which may include preparing objective analyses, appraisals and recommendations and researching, collecting, and analyzing financial capacity management trends and statistics.
  • Attend appropriate project related meetings between the hospital and construction teams to provide financial perspective include but not limited to - design team, construction team, furniture/ fixtures/equipment planning and information technology integration.
  • Attend workgroup meetings assembled to prepare and execute the activation of the completed hospital projects.
  • Routinely review project related materials with the Pavilion Activation and Capacity Management Project Manager and remain informed of the overall project schedules.
  • Support clinical departments in developing workflows to support operations in the new and renovated space and in the adherence to project schedule and completion of tasks assigned.
  • May attend community and hospital-based events to support communications of project progress.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all inclusive.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Finance or related field required or

    Experience

    • 5-7 years Five (5) years of health care financial/information systems required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Incumbent must be extremely computer literate and proficient with most commercial database, spreadsheet and presentation software, must have highly developed ability to organize, coordinate and monitor project work, highly developed ability to prepare comprehensive reports and to prepare and make effective presentations.


    This position has a hiring range of $70,428 - $131,310
