Acute Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Breast Surgery - MedStar Health

We are looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our Breast Surgery team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. There may be some occasions where cross-coverage is needed, and the position would be covering at MedStar Washington Hospital Center or MedStar Lafayette.
Our exceptional Breast surgeon as well as advanced practice providers treats a wide range of patients with breast cancer as well as breast disease and patients at high risk for breast cancer.
Using a multidisciplinary approach, we partner with colleagues from disciplines including medical oncology, radiation oncology, rehabilitation, and imaging as well as dietitians, and social work to develop highly individualized care plans that treat the whole patient. This approach provides patients with high-quality care that is unmatched in our service area.
The APP in this role will be working with our surgeon to provide early diagnostic care, pre-op education, post op care and long term follow up care to our Breast Surgery program. The responsibilities of this individual will be in the outpatient setting, supporting the surgeon as well as establishing their own clinic to see patients at high-risk for breast cancer, as well as for post-op care and follow-up visits. The role would also require performing procedures in the office, such as aspirations and I&D for example.
The schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm excluding holidays or weekends. There are some meetings that begin at 7:30 am – generally not more than once every two-three months.
Breast surgery or breast health experience preferred but not required. New grads are welcome to apply.
Nurse practitioners who apply for this role are required to be an ACNP. We cannot accept FNP's for this role.

This position has a hiring range of $115,000 to $143,619
