The Sr. Purchasing Agent is a hybrid role that requires you to be on-site 3-days per week at our Brooklyn, OH office.

Evaluates and directs Business Units in requisitioning and ordering. Guides Business Units to follow Finance, Legal, Accounts Payable processes, policies, and procedures.  Works with Business Units, Finance, and Legal on all business, financial, and legal terms to  mitigate risk and ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved. Responsibilities

 

·    Processes orders through the procurement system. Trains end users on requisitioning and performs any troubleshooting. Maintains and improves product catalogs listed in the procurement system.

·    Leads sourcing events (RFQ, RFI, RFP, or direct negotiation), supplier selection, and price/contract negotiation. Communicates results to Business Unit for review and recommendation.

·    Supports organizational initiatives such as: Expense Reduction, Efficiency Improvement, Customer Inclusion, and Diversity.

·    Participates in the enforcement of all policies, rules, regulations of the organization.

·    Conducts market analyses and benchmarking to refine opportunities.

·    Maintains the department cohesiveness through meetings to discuss commonality and procedures.

·    Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

·  Bachelors degree in Business Administration with Supply Chain focus (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

·    5 years of direct purchasing experience with a multi-site organization procuring both indirect and direct products and services preferred.

 

 

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

·   ORACLE experience with automated I-Procurement Purchasing module or equivalent experience with another ERP purchasing module.

·    Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills.

·   Knowledge of techniques, laws (e.g. UCC) and company policies/procedures related to procurement of goods and services.

·    Understanding of regional and local supply markets, including major suppliers and their capabilities.
