IT Security Specialist I

Performs the less complex, day to day operation of the security functions as they relate to policy administration/enforcement, project management, physical security, mainframe provisioning, and audit liaison. Works under close supervision and escalates issues to management for resolution.

 

IT Security Specialist II

Performs the day-to-day operation of the security functions as they relate to policy administration/enforcement, project management, physical security, mainframe provisioning, and audit liaison. Works with some supervision and escalates issues to management for resolution.

 

IT Security Specialist III

Performs the more complex day to day operation of the security functions as they relate to policy administration/enforcement, project management, physical security, mainframe provisioning, and audit liaison.  Works under minimal supervision and escalates issues to management for resolution.  

Responsibilities

IT Security Specialist I

  • Monitor security events and provide technical analysis on alerts.
  • Respond to cyber security incidents by executing the incident response strategy.
  • through incident closure, while providing incident updates to the incident commander
  • throughout the incident
  • Manage security event analysis.
  • Assist with maintaining security policies, processes and incident response procedures.
  • Gather Security Metrics collected from security tools.
  • Support and Administer Security applications and implementations of technologies.
  • used to support security operations and incident response.
  • Support Business by managing security tickets in accordance with SLA.
  • Provide direction to the SecOps Organization
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for potential security incidents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

IT Security Specialist II

  • Participate in investigations into anomalous activity.
  • Manage security event analysis.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining security policies, processes and incident response procedures.
  • Deliver security guidance clearly and concisely to team members for cloud and enterprise infrastructure initiatives derived from security policies and guidelines.
  • Gather and Automate Security Metrics collected from security tools.
  • Support and Administer Security applications and implementations of technologies used to support security operations and incident response.
  • Support Infrastructure and Security Engineering projects and tasks as needed.
  • Support Business by managing security tickets in accordance with SLA.
  • Provide direction to the SecOps Organization
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for potential security incidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

IT Security Specialist III

  • Interacts with users requests through the corporate provision system to ensure appropriate accesses are granted to system and audit controls are in place.   
  • Works with all areas of the company to review projects and documentation relating to Development, Servers and Network resources to determine and document risk associated to policy enforcement and administration.
  • Assists project manager in projects specific to security, including aligning internal and external resources to complete projects critical to Security Administration; performs routine physical security planning/review including card key access; interacts with audits and auditors to support and maintain corporate certification initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications

IT Security Specialist I

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • 1 Year of relevant IT experience.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of current technical architecture including but not limited to server, network, application firewall.
  • Reasoning skills and the ability to accurately document procedures and findings during analysis preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of security incident response, including triage, and coordinating across teams to drive incidents to closure preferred.
  • Experience utilizing SIEM tools to perform log reviews preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) on prem and in the cloud preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of principals of Vulnerability Management technologies and programs preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of Security Endpoint Detection and Response technologies preferred.
  • Fundamental understanding of Firewall administration and policy management preferred.
  • Concise verbal and written communication skills preferred.
  • A strong desire to learn and excitement for job related satisfaction preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive, and willing to take ownership preferred.
  • Knowledge of NIST and CIS practices and frameworks preferred.

 

IT Security Specialist II

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • 3 Years of relevant IT experience. 

Professional Certification(s):

  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
