Title and Summary
Manager Overview:The Corporate Treasury team performs all global treasury activities for Mastercard, including capital planning analysis, rating agency relationships, foreign exchange risk management and trading, cash management, cash positioning, global funding & liquidity management, pensions asset-liability management, and various capital markets transactions (debt issuances, equity share buy-back) including credit facility management.
The Role:
The manager (individual contributor) will start in the cash management team with primary responsibility for the optimal allocation of capital and liquidity at Mastercard's global subsidiaries. The cash team is responsible for cash management, cash positioning and global funding & liquidity management.
This is a high impact role within the Corporate Treasury team with opportunity to work with senior leaders in finance and treasury. Core responsibilities include:
• In partnership with global finance, tax, and controllership teams, evaluate financials (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements) of subsidiaries to assess minimum operating cash levels, estimate liquidity needs and recommend funding with debt and / or equity.
• In partnership with global finance, tax, and controllership teams, assess excess cash and continuously prioritize repatriation of excess cash (as dividends or return of capital) to the parent entity.
• Develop and implement an annual funding plan for all Mastercard subsidiaries to streamline the annual earnings repatriation process.
• Support the cash management team in the implementation of regional and global cash pools to optimize local liquidity and repatriation of earnings to the parent entity.
• Manage execution of intercompany funding (debt and/or equity) and dividend disbursements.
• Monthly management reporting (monthly operating reviews) and quarterly external reporting (e.g. SEC reports and disclosures).
There is potential for successful candidates to transition into other areas of interest within Corporate Treasury.
About You:
• Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills including superior organization, planning, and follow through.
• Able to foster a positive team environment and collaborate to produce outstanding results
• Robust understanding of core corporate finance and capital markets concepts
• Good knowledge of Business Intelligence tools and experience with financial systems/applications (e.g., Hyperion and Oracle)
• Advanced degree, Chartered Accountant or MBA preferred. Prior treasury or FP&A experience preferred
