What is Mastercard Services?
The Services team is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting edge data insights, strategy consulting services and a wide range of value-added services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this team is responsible for selling Mastercard Services to a diverse international customer base of flagship Issuers, Acquirers, Fintechs, Retailers and Big techs with a focus on payments.
Shape and execute the Services growth strategy in the Netherlands as a Business Development Director, leveraging Mastercard's global capabilities and working with teams worldwide to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions for clients.
The Business Development Director's key responsibilities include:
• Together with existing team, shape the Services growth strategy in the Netherlands and execute against that strategy
• Leverage deep knowledge of all the Mastercard Services capabilities and how they fit together to create customized and relevant solutions for clients to solve their needs
• Collaborate with Mastercard Advisors and local teams to drive client relationships and business development
• Build and manage relationships with senior client executives, acting as a trusted advisor and aligning their needs with Mastercard's capabilities
• Lead local / global client engagements by working closely with various internal teams around the world to ensure alignment, bringing together a clear and consistent story for the client
• Identify client opportunities through rigorous analysis, scope and structure projects, and oversee execution to ensure high-quality deliverables, including reports and presentations for engagements
• Proactively seek new knowledge and skills and facilitate the development of intellectual capital
Experiences & Qualifications we are looking for:
• Undergraduate degree required, Masters, MBA or relevant post graduate degree recommended
• Track record of building trusted relationships at C-suite level, exhibit strong relationship management skills using consultative skills to create and convert pipeline opportunity in the market
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth fostering lasting partnerships by developing and communicating clear value propositions
• Have a strong consultive sales approached focused on meeting the needs of customers by getting to know them and building a trusting relationship with them
• Proven experience from a top-rated Financial Institution, Fintech, Consulting or Digital firm, payments/banking expertise is a plus
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English, Dutch proficiency is desired
• Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, self-starter and strong commercial sense
• Strong presence & communication skills – both interpersonal & written
• Excellent client management & engagement management skills
• Ability to multi-task independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
