Luminis Health, a progressive health system headquartered in picturesque Annapolis, Maryland, is seeking Part Time and Full Time Physician Assistants to work under the direction and supervision of the physician staff of the Division of Neurosurgery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing all required clinical duties, including patient evaluations in the preoperative, perioperative, postoperative, and outpatient settings as well as performing ICU bedside procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical teams in managing Neurosurgery patients
  • Collecting data pertinent to the patient's health and situation including interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient's status, and assisting with surgical procedures.
  • Formulating a treatment plan for Neurological problems within scope of practice. Implementing therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercising judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Neurosurgeon, or other health care professionals.
  • Comparing and contrasting clinical findings, normal and abnormal variations in formulating a diagnosis. Identifying assessment, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic interventions within the plan that reflect current evidence, including data, research, literature and expert clinical knowledge; collaborating with physician on the plan as needed.
  • Caring directly for clients and helping manage complex patients. Promoting patient engagement by explaining treatment plan, identifying and addressing any expected obstacles.
  • Participating in group call duties, including night and weekend coverage
  • Participating in the quality and patient satisfaction review process, incorporating feedback into improvement plans and associated quality forums. Using quality data to enhance effectiveness of care delivery.
  • Using current health care research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge, enhancing role performance and increasing knowledge of professional issues

Requirements include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant School 
  • Current License as a Physician Assistant
  • Neurosurgical or Surgical clinical experience as a PA
