Description

The LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, LA, Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Diseases seeks applicants for an academic faculty position to be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non tenure, clinical track).

Incumbent will provide outpatient and inpatient services at University Medical Center New Orleans. Teaching and supervision of ID fellows as assigned will be included. The section offers a diverse patient population for clinical and translational research projects within LSU and with partnering institutions. Current ID faculty have funded research in the areas of new HIV therapeutics, malignancies associated with HIV, molecular diagnostics and therapeutic interventions in sexually transmitted infections. Moreover, we have collaborative projects with the NIH-funded Alcohol Research Center focusing on the intersection between HIV, alcohol, and substance use.

Certifications/Licenses Required
ABIM board certified/eligible (or equivalent) physician in Internal Medicine; Board certified/eligible (or equivalent) in Infectious Diseases; Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before date of hire.
