Job SummaryThe Imaging Support Associate is the assistant to the technologist and assists the Imaging department in related functions. The associate will prepare patients for exams, check for proper paper work, and assist the technologist in setting up exam rooms. Modalities include: CT, MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound, Special Procedures/Cath Lab and X-Ray.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent;
Must be Enrolled in Good Standing or on a Wait List for an Imaging Modality College or Certification Program (X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc.).
Minimum Years of Experience: None.
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Active CPR/BLS Certification
Required Training: None.
- Greeting patients, visitor, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, fielding questions and providing appropriate responses.
- Verifies patient identity and exam to be provided in accordance with current policies.
- Conduct screening interviews of patients to identify the area of interest that needs to be examined, as well as detecting any contraindications.
- Reviewing prescriptions, patient history, and consent if needed.
- Set up equipment in the room as necessary.
- Maintains an on-going awareness of patient's needs while assisting the technologist.
- Position requires physical contact (i.e. - lifting patients/transporting/assisting the technologist in positioning as needed).
- Maintains supply of inventory by checking stock and replenishing supplies.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Effectively coordinates patient schedules in coordination with clerical personnel, technologists and maintain throughput and meet the needs of the patients.
- Provide assistance with such tasks as dressing and changing seriously ill, injured or disabled patients.
- Adheres to established infection control and practice proper PPE.
- Assist department with transporting patients to/from rooms to department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
