Position Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to support a range of laboratory equipment and product lines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing calibrations, preventative and predictive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting equipment as needed. This role emphasizes building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers while ensuring the proper maintenance and certification of laboratory instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled calibrations on laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) testing, validation, and acceptance procedures.
- Document all calibrations and investigations of calibration failures accurately and comprehensively.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on laboratory equipment according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot laboratory equipment issues promptly and effectively.
- Repair or resolve equipment problems whenever feasible.
- Maintain detailed instrument calibration and history files.
- Conduct product set-ups and demonstrations, providing pre- and post-sales support for general instrumentation, including but not limited to: LC, GC, HPLC, and Dissolution systems.
- Foster and enhance relationships with customers and suppliers to promote service satisfaction and retention.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a field service role, preferably within laboratory environments.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, including calibration and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with customers and colleagues.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
