Are you a passionate chemist with a knack for innovation and problem-solving in the inkjet industry? If so, we are looking for a dynamic Senior Chemist to join our Inkjet division! This role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment and contribute to the development of cutting-edge products that impact the global printing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Development: Innovate and develop new inkjet products that meet customer needs and industry trends.
- Product Improvement: Enhance existing formulations to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
- Industrialization & Onshoring: Lead efforts to bring products developed abroad into local manufacturing processes.
- Collaborative Support: Assist the GM in managing our Inkjet product portfolio and work closely with the purchasing team to manage costs and create accurate forecasts.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting, technical service, and product recommendations to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers and the print service team on product trials and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Supplier Relations: Work with suppliers to select the right raw materials for ink and coating formulations.
- Lab Management: Manage lab equipment, including calibration, installation, and maintenance.
- System Management: Maintain accurate formulations and documentation in our ERP system, ensuring all testing and results are properly communicated and reported.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in the inkjet industry, including formulation and product development.
- Skills:
- Ability to independently develop inkjet inks and coatings.
- Strong understanding of inkjet printing processes and substrates.
- Proficient in Windows-based software and databases.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to document and report findings clearly.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety Mindset: Experience handling hazardous chemicals and adhering to safety guidelines.
Preferred, but not Required:
- SAP experience.
- Knowledge of different plastics and synthetic substrates.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a lab setting and stand or sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses.
- Some travel may be required (up to 50%) for customer visits and trade shows.
