Salary: $80,000-100,000

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Senior Research Associate, Proteomics. The role involves developing, optimizing, and executing mass spectrometry-based workflows for proteomics research in a preclinical biotech setting.

Responsibilities

  • LC-MS Operation & Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems.
  • Sample Preparation: Perform protein extraction, digestion, and clean-up for LC-MS/MS analysis.
  • Proteomics Analysis: Conduct DIA, DDA, and PRM proteomics experiments.
  • Method Development: Develop and optimize proteomics methods for sample preparation and LC-MS.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze and interpret proteomics data using software and bioinformatics tools.
  • Collaborative Research: Collaborate with cross-functional teams on experiment design and execution.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records, analyze data, and present findings at meetings and conferences.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: BS in biology, chemistry, or related field with 3+ years of experience; or MS with 1+ year of experience in proteomics and mass spectrometry.
  • Mass Spectrometry: Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS systems (e.g., Orbitrap, Q-TOF), including operation and troubleshooting.
  • Sample Preparation: Expertise in cell culture, protein extraction, digestion, and peptide clean-up.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency with proteomics software (e.g., Skyline) and data analysis.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot instruments and optimize methods.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting data.
Preferred:
  • LC-MS Method Development: Experience with DDA, DIA, or PRM method development.
  • Automation Skills: Understanding of automated sample preparation and high-throughput workflows.
  • Bioinformatics Integration: Basic coding skills (R or Python) for data analysis and presentation.
