Description
Position Objective: To ensure all aspects of the facility and equipment are cleaned properly and at intervals designated in the MCS to ensure that all products produced are of high quality and are free from contaminates all while following standard Food and Human safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Must be able to take direction from the supervisor who has prioritized the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks.
- Utilize safety equipment as needed, when dealing with more caustic chemicals per each individual SSOP.
- Responsible for cleaning various types of dough and residue off machinery, equipment, and structural items.
- Wash, rinse and sanitize pots/pans, mixing bowls, machinery, conveyors, ovens, etc.
- Degrease various types of equipment as needed/scheduled.
- Mop, deck brush, squeegee floors during wash downs as instructed
- Utilize different types of cleaning chemicals based on assignment and SSOP.
- Clean ceilings, pipes, and other non-production places as needed or assigned.
- Clean processing equipment, roof, fans, ceilings, walls, and floors using specific procedures as directed
- Perform all responsibilities following established GMP, SOP's, Food Safety, SSOP, and Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Keep accurate records of cleaning performed, if required
- Inspect your assigned equipment/areas before advising the supervisor your assignment(s) is complete
- Stay until your assignment equipment/areas have been deemed complete by the supervisor
- Perform duties assigned from the Master Cleaning Schedule
- Perform daily and special assignments as scheduled by the supervisor as well as all other related assignments including assisting and training other workers as requested by the supervisor
- Perform all other tasks as needed or assigned.
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be able to listen, and follow directions
- Must be able to communicate in basic English, both verbal and written
- Must follow all safety and food safety policies and procedures (PPE, GMP, sops)
- Willingness to work the assigned schedule
- Working weekends are required
- Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position
- One year of work experience in a food processing plant is an asset
- Strong communication
- Self-Motivated
- Can take direction
- Can prioritize deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, stack, and/or carry totes/pans, remove blades, etc.
- Have the ability to stand and/or stoop for the full shift and able to climb ladders
- Ability to push, pull, bend and twist
- Strong physical stamina
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is a must.
- Ability to work in a variety of different situations i.e., Cold, Hot, Damp, Wet, Strong Chemicals, and High or Tight Spaces around machinery.
- Tuesday through Saturday
- Tuesday – Friday (5:00pm – 1:30am); Saturday (1:00pm – 9:30pm)
- Sundays (Only if Needed)
