Job Title: Quality Technician – Final Inspection and Testing
Location: Morris, CT
Pay: $23.00/hr
Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our team, focusing on Final Inspection and Testing. This role is vital to ensuring that finished products meet our high standards for quality and performance. As a Quality Technician, you will also be responsible for compiling First Article Inspection (FAI) packages and working closely with the Quality and Production teams to maintain and improve overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Final Inspection & Testing:
- Perform visual inspections and functional tests on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
- Utilize various test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and custom testing fixtures, to verify product functionality and performance.
- Document and report any non-conformances, working with the Quality and Production teams to resolve issues promptly.
- First Article Inspection (FAI):
- Prepare and compile FAI packages, including dimensional reports, material certifications, and test results, in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure FAI documentation aligns with product specifications and standards.
- Submit FAI packages for approval and maintain records for full traceability.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and non-conformances.
- Assist in the creation or update of quality documentation, including inspection checklists and test procedures.
- Contribute to quality reports, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Process Support & Improvement:
- Work closely with the Production team to identify and address process inefficiencies or quality concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and optimize testing and inspection processes.
- Compliance with Standards:
- Ensure products meet company quality standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or training in quality inspection, electronics, or manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, final testing, or a related field (preferably in electronics manufacturing).
- Experience with FAI package preparation and documentation is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and multimeters.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
