Shift: Standard PST business hours Monday - Friday
Duration: Direct-hire (permanent position)
Overview
Our client is a life sciences company focused on maintaining high standards in quality control for medical device components. This role involves supervising quality control related tasks, performing receiving inspections, and conducting in-process and final inspection functions.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily activities of the Quality Control Department under the direct management of the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Be proactive in identifying cost-cutting measures and process improvements.
- Maintain inspection schedules.
- Oversee the Quality Control department and staff.
- Manage and administer training for Quality Control staff.
- Inspect medical device components.
- Use measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and rulers.
- Pull products per manufacturing work orders and verify the accuracy of the presented information.
- Open products under laminar flow where appropriate to maintain cleanliness.
- Record trace information where required.
- Ensure all work order packets are complete and accurate, and report any discrepancies to planning.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations required to assist in the completion of packaging batches.
- Work with the production schedule to ensure priorities are met.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word effectively.
- Demonstrate good manufacturing practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a Quality Control role within the medical device industry.
- Ability to use measurement equipment accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
- Experience in supervising and training staff.
