Job Opportunity: Quality Control Inspector – Penn Yan, NY
Kelly® Professional & Industrial is seeking Quality Control Inspectors for a leading food manufacturing company in Penn Yan, NY. If you're looking for a career with growth potential and a stable, reputable company, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Pay: $18.75 – $19.25/hr. Temp to Hire
Shifts: Rotating Shifts
- Days: 7am - 7pm
- Overnights: 7pm - 7am
- Enjoy 3-day weekends every other week and never work more than 3 days in a row!
What You'll Do:
- Product Sampling & Testing: Regularly sample food products to ensure quality, using a combination of physical, chemical, and sensory evaluation methods. Ensure products meet quality standards for taste, texture, color, and consistency.
- Packaging & Labeling Inspections: Inspect packaging for integrity, ensuring that it meets industry standards. Perform tear-down examinations and visual checks to ensure proper sealing, packaging, and labeling.
- Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document test results and observations according to company parameters, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality control processes. Maintain clear and concise records.
- Problem Identification & Resolution: Identify potential issues with product quality or packaging and escalate concerns to the appropriate teams for corrective action. Work proactively to resolve issues before they affect production.
- Quality Audits: Conduct regular audits of production lines and raw materials to ensure adherence to company standards. Perform periodic checks to guarantee consistency and quality throughout production.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, manufacturing, and management teams to maintain high-quality standards. Offer suggestions for process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, helping to refine processes and ensure that the company meets or exceeds industry standards for food safety and product quality.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. A strong sense of responsibility for product quality.
- Experience: Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality control, or a related field is preferred but not required. Any experience with food safety or quality control standards is a plus!
- Work Ethic: A proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality are met at all times.
