QC Tech

Pay: $21-23/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 5am start
Overview:
Our Client is seeking a Quality Control Technician who will be responsible for ensuring food safety and quality standards across their production facilities. T

Responsibilities:

  • Shall maintain the administration of Food Safety, Pre-requisite, and quality programs within the warehouse and production areas.
  • Conduct QA tests on incoming, in-process and outgoing products as required.
  • Monitor facilities' internal and external environments to ensure compliance with regulatory and Company expectation.
  • Review, track and administer quality-related documentation to ensure traceability, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Monitor production environment for adherence to regulatory and food safety policies.
  • Perform regular line checks of all assigned areas, review production documents and CCP's, evaluate incoming and finished product, report results and manage release and use of qualified ingredients.
  • Enter test results into QC trending spreadsheets, report test results promptly and accurately to ensure product control and release.
  • Ensure proper notification to all necessary parties of any deviations related to quality or food safety.
  • Assist with new and existing Food Safety & Quality programs in order to drive continuous improvement.
  • Have the ability to effectively use e-mail, ERP system, Excel, Word, Google docs, and MS Nav.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and on a team. Self-driven and motivated. Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adapt to new duties when called upon. Available for overtime and weekend work when required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • HACCP Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the food industry, specifically in Environmental Monitoring or relevant experience. Or a BS degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Docs, and ERP systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with strong food smells and aromas.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry between 5 and 60 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motions.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, strong food aromas, and varying temperatures.
