PROJECT ENGINEER (Racine, Wisconsin)
Our client, a manufacturer of Commercial & Industrial Water Solutions, is currently hiring a Project Engineer (Direct Hire). Role is newly-created due to tremendous growth!
Project Engineer will lead design of products and systems in accordance with proposal and client specifications for commercial, institutional, and industrial water treatment projects. Focus will be on products such as big tank systems like softeners, multimedia filters, etc. (piping, valves, pressure vessels, structural components, etc.)- Someone strong on the mechanical side is crucial for this position.
Roles involves close communication and coordination with other internal functions such as Sales, Procurement, and Manufacturing in addition to working with outside parties such as Suppliers and our Clients and their Representatives. Reports to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
Read and interpret complex customer specifications/requirement documentation.
Produce process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and equipment and instrumentation schedules per standard practices and established industry standards.
For complex jobs, create project schedules, produce accurate and complete handover packages for the design team, and lead the team to completion.
Self-manage through the design to meet project milestones. Duties include reviewing drawings and bill of materials for accuracy and design for manufacturing.
Interact with customers and vendors in an independent nature.
Actively contribute on documentation efforts of intrinsic knowledge (design guides, standard operating procedures, etc.).
Desired Skills & Experience:
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering is preferred (other engineering disciplines considered based on experience).
Ability to perform typical design hand calculations including pump sizing, flow velocity, etc.
5+ years of industrial design engineering experience involving medium and large capital projects Strong personal ability to lead people, motivate, and resolve conflict.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Prior experience with a wide variety of industries and applications preferred (e.g. Food/Beverage, Chemical, Healthcare).
3-D modeling experience is preferred (e.g. Inventor, Solidworks, CREO).
Prior experience with commercial & industrial water treatment equipment involving water softening, media filtration, membrane technology, and specialty ion exchange technologies is a plus.
Competency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Travel may be occasionally required (project-dependent) – once or twice a year.
Direct Hire.
Compensation: $55,000.00- $85,000.00***
