Title: Product Development Technician
Location: Fremont, CA
Duration: 12 months +

Overview

  • Working with Corporate Technology Center (CTC) Analytical group
  • CTC Analytical group plays an integral role within the company through focusing on advanced material characterization techniques to determine root cause analysis of manufacturing issues and supporting new initiatives within R&D pertaining to material and process development along with providing technical expertise in materials issues.
  • Company manufactures well-known brands of electric and electronic components with a wide span of applications from automotive to appliance
  • Will work closely with other team members from the analytical team to support material analysis for R&D and business unit projects.
  • Will provide consulting and support to TE's business units on materials challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily based experiment for Rotational Rheometer, DMA, Capillary Rheometer, SEM/EDS, XRF, FTIR, TGA, DSC, and pot and polish to support R&D projects and business unit projects
  • Write technical reports pertaining to the equipment methodology, procedure, and analysis of the result with graphical representation and fundamental knowledge to support test findings
  • Communicate with the customer regarding the test request and results
  • Upload the test results into centralized database
  • Conduct regular instrument maintenance and work with the supplier closely to troubleshoot issues
  • Write SOP for instrumentation
  • Provide consulting advice on complex material issues for R&D and business unit projects

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science highly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years' experience using material characterization equipment such as SEM and FTIR
  • Self-motivated individual that will perform material analysis
  • Ability to work and be hands on in the lab and perform material analysis
  • Strong team player with a positive, proactive, and professional attitude
  • Able to write technical reports on their analysis

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of material characterizing techniques such as Rheology, DMA, FTIR, SEM/EDS, XRF, DSC, and TGA
  • Hands-on experience using and interpreting data from analytical techniques in the following areas: Rotational Rheology, DMA, Capillary Rheology, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XRF, DSC, and TGA
